Jonni Ketter requests prayers for her 17-year-old son Brandon who is at Washington Hospital Center and could use all the prayers possible. Tuesday night, during a horrible ice storm, he stepped outside a friend's house, slipped on the ice and hit a plant hook that was protruding from a wrought-iron plant stand. It punctured his right eye. It is likely he will be blind in that eye for the rest of his life -- but not certain. He is being treated with steroids to reduce the massive swelling and the family is hopeful that it will relieve the pressure from the optic nerve and restore his eyesight.
Delma Windsor will be having Thyroid surgery on March 5th at UMBC. Pray God’s guidance for the doctors and for the overall success of the surgery and recovery afterwards. Delma shares a praise report that she passed her insurance test and has received her license to do insurance in Maryland.
Ramona Hanson had requested prayers for her co-worker's daughter, whom was hospitalized with meningitis. She is now home and recovering! Thanks for your prayers! Also, Ramona’s niece AJ and her children are finally recovered from the flu. Prayers are still needed for AJ's son Alex whom is being tested for autism shortly.
Genevieve Myers requests prayers her uncle, Carl Wilson who attends New Life Church. He had a colonoscopy a few days ago to remove some polyps, and unfortunately started bleeding heavily this morning. His blood pressure went down to 50/30. He was taken by ambulance to Fort Washington Hospital. He is in the ICU. Please pray for his blood to clot in the proper place so the bleeding will stop.
Sarah Poythress requests prayers for her very good friend Rita’s husband Steve. After seeing the doctor four times this week and LOTS of medications (none of which worked), Steve is facing major surgery. Yesterday after irrigating and scoping Steve's bladder the Urologist found that Steve has diverticulitis or diverticular disease of the colon with a fistula connection to his bladder. The doctor immediately sent him to see a surgeon yesterday afternoon. He is scheduled for admission on Monday to Forsyth for a colonoscopy under anesthesia and then surgery on Tuesday. The Surgeon will operate on his colon and the Urologist will operate on his bladder. The extent of the colon surgery will depend on what they see from the colonoscopy on Monday. The family was told there is a 50% chance that he will have to have a colostomy. Pray for the success of this surgery!
Please pray for healing for Angelia.
Pray for Richard who will be having a biopsy on Monday.
Sheri Raleigh shares a praise report concerning her son Cooper. Cooper has recovered from pneumonia and is back to church and school. Thanks so much for all of the thoughts and prayers!
William Douglas requests prayers for Jackie’s 40 year old cousin who is in Civista fighting for her life with cancer.
Please pray for Megan DeGruy who goes to Georgetown ICU on Friday, Feb. 23rd for three days for a monitor to be placed in her brain to look at her pressure. This may result in them placing a shunt in her head.
Lamont Lewis requests prayers for his mom LaQuetta Boyd who is going back on kidney dialysis. Pray also for God’s direction for Lamont as he attempts to make some changes in his life.
Prayers are requested for Mary Lowe-Whitaker who is the mother of Bonnie Messink and who is having surgery on February 19th. Pray for a successful outcome and recovery afterwards.
Please keep Julie Youman and family in prayer as they mourn the recent loss of her father. Pray for God’s comfort for this family!
