Sydney, now 8, has been living with asthma since she was 14 months old. On January 22nd Sydney saw an asthma doctor for pulmonary testing. In layman’s terms, the results showed that the large part of her lungs is functioning at an approximate 60% capacity, the small part of her lungs at a 35% capacity. The preliminary diagnosis is early obstructive pulmonary impairment with preliminary focus on small airway disease and/or early stage emphysema. This diagnosis is not final and will require additional testing to refine. She has tests scheduled for February 3rd and February 6th. The family is hopeful these additional tests will confirm something less scary. Please pray for God’s healing power to surround Sydney, His wisdom for all the doctors, and His peace for Cheri and Dave. Send words of encouragement and your favorite scripture verses to Sydney at prayers4sydney@yahoo.com. She is looking forward to reading them. Also, please forward this to other prayer chains you may be a part of.

Anna Jones, Tim O'Connor's nephew's wife asked to be on the prayer list for her upcoming surgery, this Friday.  This is part exploratory and could be very serious. Please pray for a speedy recovery.  She does not have a church family and Tim and Cindy feel blessed she asked them for prayers.

Alice Baggett reports that her Aunt Hilda did pass away this (Sunday) morning.  Alice also requests prayer for the family of Jon C. who passed away Friday.

Amy is scheduled for gallbladder surgery on Tuesday at Civista.  Pray for the success of her surgery and for a great recovery after surgery.

Prayers are requested for Ginny Parsons who is going in for knee replacement surgery on February 10th.  Pray for the success of this surgery.

Gunther Knittel has stomach and esophagus cancer and has had his first round of chemo and has five more rounds to go.  His next chemo is on Thursday, January 29th at Georgetown University Hospital. REQUEST FOR HELP Gunther and Maria are looking for someone to drive them to Gunther's next chemo appointment.  This would require getting them to Georgetown Hospital by 7:30 a.m. and remaining at the hospital all day until his treatment is completed.  If anyone has some free time available and would be interested in helping this family out, please call the church office at (301) 609-8423 to get more specific information.
