Amanda Willett just received word from her friend that her friend's little boy Christopher, as well as all 200 other orphans in his orphanage in Haiti, are alive and ok. Thank you and praise God. Now Christopher needs prayers that he will get to the mommy and daddy anxiously awaiting his arrival in Sacramento.
Prayers are requested for a family member who is currently in a local detention center. No details are known as to exactly why this person is incarcerated. This person does have medical issues that may be contributing to her current situation. Pray that God would work through this person and those she comes in contact with and that she would be given the proper attention/guidance that she needs now so that she can be released soon.
Cheryl Holden received an e-mail today from a missionary family that is working through Global Partners and who is assigned to Haiti. The message that was e-mailed is as follows:
"We just want to tell you that our family as well as all the missionaries with Global partners in Haiti are doing well. As all of you know, we were hit with an earthquake Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. No one is hurt. God is great!! He protected us and we see his grace and fruitfulness all over. Our house is still standing, but we can't live in it yet since we aren't sure if the structure was affected. Some walls are cracked and we will be asking an inspector to evaluate the house before we move in again. We sleep in a field where there are nothing that can fall on us if ever there was another earthquake. We don't have electricity in the house, but we do have water and food for the next few weeks. Please keep praying: 1. for protection of our family; 2. Discernment whether we should stay in Haiti or leave until the situation gets better; 3. the hurting people in haiti. Remember that our safety is not in the absence of danger but in the presence of the Lord. We love you all and are so appreciative of your prayers. THe God we are serving is good and even though at times we don't understand things he allows, we know He is in control and He loves His children." The Gilles, in Haiti.
Please be in prayer for Jenn Legacy's grandmother who has been dealing with medical issues for a while now and recently had taken a slight turn for the worse. Jenn went to Florida to be with her grandmother for some of her scheduled doctors appointments. Jenn has convinced her grandmother that it would be best for her to come back with Jenn to Maryland from Florida to at least temporarily live with Jenn and family so that she can have some assistance in her recuperation. Pray for Jenn's grandmother's health and for a smooth transition during her move from Florida to Maryland. Pray also for Jenn and family as they adjust to this new situation.
